Sustainability During Production

We at Snapyn are passionate about our work. This includes everything from editing a project to buying Meinir a good quality organic coffee. Production sustainability is something we take pride in. In our recent production for S4C “Taith I Gaeredin” a observational documentary about three comedians taking part in their first Edignbrugh Fringe festival. We worked with ALBERT to gain an understanding of what is required to become an ALBERT certified production. And it’s not that hard!

Here’s a few of the steps we took were- And you could too!

Green memo’s- A simple memo reminding everyone in the production to be more green. We focused on re using water containers, not using sigle use plastic bottles. Not good for your health or the planet.

Thinking Sustainable when booking accommodation- Booking somewhere thats close to filming locations, reducing travel to and from accom.

Carbon Offsetting- After completing ALBERT certification we paid Ecology ti offeet our calculated Carbon usuage.

Using Local Crew- We always try to use local people who are close to our filming locations when possible.

So if your a production company, or if your reading this after watching our programme, maybe just have a think about sustainability in whaterver your doing in life.
